Your ideas will shape Champaign County’s newest educational performing arts organization.
Sound Curiosity will host three brainstorm sessions to help launch its new STEM and music education programs for youth and adults. Fun-loving participants may register for any or all of the sessions, to be conducted August 12, 17, and 18.
In each session, we will collaboratively brainstorm ideas for our first live performance series to launch this fall.
As an educational non-profit organization, Sound Curiosity rehearsals will blend musicianship development with fun exploration of topics in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our performance format will blur the lines between theatrical performance, concert, and Bill Nye the Science Guy, with lab-coated performers engaging the audience in both scientific and musical experiments.
To inspire the conversation, Sound Curiosity will have a variety of percussion instruments available including Boomwhackers and some of the largest handbells anywhere in the world. (Of course, brainstormers don’t need to be musicians – just be curious about it!)
Sound Curiosity will provide pizza or sandwiches, salad, and light snacks to participants who register at soundcuriosity.org/events – spots are limited, so be sure to RSVP quickly!
